Getting started
ComidaQR runs in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer. There is nothing to install.
Create your account
Sign up with your email, then choose the country your restaurant is in.
The country sets your currency, time zone and taxes, and how prices and dates are written. It can't be changed later, so pick the country the restaurant is in.
Your first steps
Getting started takes you through three steps. You can change everything later.
- Your restaurant: type its name. It goes at the top of your menu.
- Your menu: write your dishes, or import a PDF or photos of your paper menu.
- Your QR: print the code and put it on the tables. Anyone who scans it sees your menu.
Find your way around
The main screens are Today, Floor, Kitchen, Bookings and Menu.
More has Tables & QR, Analytics, Guests and Cash. Settings is at the bottom.
Each person sees the screens that their role and your plan include.
Plans
The plans are Free, Menu, Bistro and Grande. Some features in this guide depend on your plan.
The pricing page shows what each plan includes and what it costs in your country. To change your plan, open Settings › Subscription.
Tables, zones and QR codes
Tables
Tables & QR › Tables is where you add a table for each table in your restaurant. Its name shows on the floor, on the tickets and in the frame of its QR code.
Zones
Zones are the parts of your restaurant your tables sit in, such as the inside and the terrace. Every plan has them.
To add, rename, reorder, recolour or delete zones, open Tables & QR › Tables and choose Edit zones. Their order there is their order on the floor and on the floor plan.
When you delete a zone that has tables, you choose where its tables go.
A zone can add a surcharge to each dish, such as on a terrace. The menu shows the full price before guests order.
Floor plan
Tables & QR › Floor plan is where you draw each zone to scale: its tables, the bar, walls, doors and windows.
Drag things to move them. Place all puts every table that isn't placed yet on the plan. You can also start from a template or from a photo of the dining room.
On Grande, the floor screen shows the plan live, with the state of each table.
QR codes
Each table has its own QR code. Tables & QR › QR codes adds your colours, your logo and a frame with the table's name, and checks the contrast of your colours.
Download one code as PNG, SVG or PDF, or every table at once in a ZIP file.
Menu › QR & print has printable menus, table cards and a specials card.
Your links
Settings › Your links has your menu link and one short link to your menu, with its QR code, for Instagram, Google and your window.
During service
Today
Today shows the service at a glance: tables in use, orders in the kitchen and today's bookings.
Analytics, under More, shows your sales, orders and most-ordered dishes over time.
How guests order
- The guest scans the QR code on the table. The menu opens in the browser, with no app to install.
- They choose their language.
- To order, they type the table code. The floor team sees it when they open the table.
- Everyone at the table adds dishes to one shared basket, with a note on any dish.
- They send the order. It goes straight to the kitchen, and they can order again later.
- At the end they ask for the bill. If you take payments online, they pay from their phone.
Floor
Floor shows every table and its state: free, seated, ordering, in the kitchen, to serve, bill requested or paid.
Open a table to see its code, add dishes the guests asked a waiter for, move it or merge it with another table.
Bill moves the table to the bill and stops new orders from the QR. Then take payment, split the bill or add a discount or a service charge, and free the table.
Kitchen
Kitchen shows the tickets from the open tables, oldest first. A sound plays for each new ticket, and you can mute it.
Each ticket moves along: New, Cooking, Ready. Ready tickets wait for the floor to serve them.
Stations filter the tickets, so each screen can show only its own dishes, such as the grill or the bar.
Kitchen and printers
Settings › Kitchen and printers sends kitchen tickets and bills to your receipt printers through the ComidaQR bridge on your network.
Kitchen tickets and printed bills come with the Bistro plan.
Bookings
Your booking page
Guests book from a public booking page in your menu's look, at the times you have free.
They get an email to confirm, with a link to change or cancel their booking.
Bistro and Grande include bookings. On the Menu plan, add the Reservas add-on.
The day book
Bookings shows who is coming, when and at which table. To take a booking by phone or in person, choose New booking.
The timeline shows the day's bookings table by table. The waitlist holds people who wanted a table on a full day; when one frees up, you decide who gets it.
Bookings › Settings sets your booking times and how far ahead guests can book.
Your team
Invite your team
To invite someone, open Settings › Team. Choose Invite someone, type their email and pick a role.
The invitation link works for 7 days. How many people you can invite depends on your plan.
Roles
Each role sees only the screens it needs.
- Admin: runs the restaurant with you, settings included.
- Floor: the tables, their orders and the bill.
- Kitchen: the tickets, from new to ready.
Payments, taxes and cash
Guests pay from their phone
To let guests pay the bill from their phone, connect your payment account in Settings › Payments.
Guests can pay the whole bill, split it evenly or by item, and add a tip. You can still take payment at the table as usual.
Taxes
Settings › Taxes sets which tax you charge and its rates, whether your prices include it or it is added at checkout, and the fiscal details on your bills.
It also holds your discount and service charge presets, which the floor team adds to a bill.
Cash
Cash, under More, shows the takings since the last close. Count the till, close it, and look back at earlier closes.
Your account and data
Plan and invoices
Settings › Subscription shows your plan, your billing and your invoices. You can change your plan there.
Security
Settings › Security lists the devices logged in to your account, so you can log out the ones you don't recognise. It also shows whether a partner can access your restaurant.
Your data
Your data is yours. In Settings › Data & privacy, you can export everything as a file or delete your account.
After you ask to delete your account, we wait 30 days before we erase your data.
Tell us what to improve
Settings › Feedback sends your ideas and problems to the ComidaQR team. For anything else, write to us.
For partners
Partners bring restaurants to ComidaQR and earn a commission.
The partner portal
The partner portal has your dashboard, leads, customers, team, commissions and profile.
- Leads: the restaurants you're talking to, from first contact to customer.
- Customers: the restaurants you brought, with their status and how far their setup has gone.
- Commissions: what you've earned, what's pending and what has been paid.
- Team: the sub-partners who work with you, with their share of the commission.
- Referral codes: a discount for new restaurants, with a link that applies it.
Set up a restaurant for a customer
You can set up a restaurant for a customer and send them a link to claim it. The link works for 14 days. Once they claim it, they become its owner.
